Job Description: 

We are looking for an experienced Scientist or Engineer who wants to make a big difference and contribute to developing a state-of-the-art ophthalmic diagnostic and surgery planning platform.

In this role, you will:

  • Work alongside experts in various scientific and engineering disciplines.
  • Work on software and/or hardware solutions.
  • Develop new ophthalmic diagnostic products.
  • Develop simulation applications for improving the outcome of cataract and cornea refractive surgery.
  • Execute engineering tasks related to the development of medical device products: from concept and development through commercialization.
  • Generate requirement and specifications documents, verification and validation protocols and reports.
  • Plan clinical studies and analyze results.
  • Keep up to date with technology trends.
  • Understand existing technologies in the clinic and identify and explore potential improvements.
  • Generate concepts and principles and investigate their feasibility for current and future products.
  • The ideal candidate should have the drive and aptitude to continuously learn about new fields and technologies and implement novel solutions to problems.
  • Must have very good problem solving skills and pay close attention to details.
  • Must be a self-starter and a fast learner.
  • Must work efficiently both independently and within a team.
  • Some travel is expected

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 2 Years of Relevant Experience

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in vision science or ophthalmology
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Vision Science, Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields
  • Matlab
  • Zemax, Fred, or similar optical simulation tools
  • Fourier optics or wave optics modeling of diffraction effects
  • Optical ray tracing
  • C/C++
  • Statistics
  • Signal processing
  • Machine learning algorithms
