The high-tech lasers Spectra-Physics sells today rely on advanced optical, mechanical and electrical technologies and sophisticated software control programs. Successfully designing a laser system requires close cooperation between experts in all these disciplines and we are looking for curious and motivated candidates who are studying in a related field to assist in that work.  The focus of your internship can be within a wide range of topics, including those you may not expect such as artificial intelligence and exploring new materials properties.  If you are considering a career in the optics and laser industry, let us know your technical background and interests and we will work to develop a project that fits your interests and our requirements.

What will you bring to the team, along with your creativity is:

  • Ability to design and conduct experiments and analyze data
  • Some experience with lab work related to the area of your technical focus
  • Candidates should be pursuing a Master’s degree in a technical field and be available for employment in the following year (2022).
  • You should be a “US Person” as defined in the last paragraph below.
