Job Description: 

The Synopsys Optical Solutions Group (OSG) has an opening for a Technical Intern position in the Customer Success team, supporting either the CODE V or the LightTools product. CODE V and LightTools use state-of-the-art optical algorithms for the layout, design and analysis of image forming and illumination systems, respectively.

This internship is full time (40 hours/week) and lasts for 3 months. You can start as early as May 2022.

What you’ll learn and do:

The successful candidate will be responsible for working on material to benefit customers designing optical systems with CODE V or LightTools by:

  • Authoring training tutorials
  • Developing technical examples
  • Updating support materials and libraries

You will have opportunities to:

Skill Requirements:

  • 1+ years of optical systems modeling, analysis, and design experience using commercial design tools in an academic or professional environment 
  • 1+ years experience with CODE V or LightTools
  • Proficient understanding of optical sciences
  • Excellent written and verbal skills 
  • Ability to communicate technical information to others inside and outside the company
  • Ability to work on concurrent projects and ability to work with a team as well as autonomously
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors, Masters or Ph.D. degree in Optics, Optical Sciences, or other related technical field
  • Excellent references

Experience in any of the following is a plus:

  • CODE V Macro+ writing
  • LightTools COM macro writing
  • MATLAB or Python
  • Video production
  • Microsoft COM Programming
  • Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Other procedural or object-oriented languages

Education Qualifications:
All interns must be currently enrolled in an accredited educational institution.  Pursuing BA/BS
