The National Ignition Facility and Photon Science (NIF&PS) Directorate at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) has an opening for a continuing undergraduate student with a background in astronomy, astrophysics, and/or physics to engage in an exciting hands-on research project to further their educational and professional goals. In this paid internship, you will work alongside scientists and engineers conducting experimental research in adaptive optics involving a laser guide star both onsite at LLNL and offsite at nearby Lick Observatory. Prior on-sky experience at an observatory and/or hands-on experience with lasers are desired qualifications specific to this role.
