Customer Success – Optical Engineer - Imaging
Synopsys Optical Solutions is looking for an optical engineer to work in the Customer Success group to provide technical support, training, and other technical content to customers. This position will emphasize supporting customers in North America using the industry leading imaging design and analysis software CODE V.
The applicant should:
- Have skills in the use of advanced optical design tools (CODE V preferred)
- Have a passion for helping engineers with diverse experience to solve their most challenging engineering problems
- Have a passion for communicating technical information in a variety of formats
- Be able to understand optical engineering issues associated with new and advancing technology applications and communicate complex problems quickly and accurately
- Enjoy interfacing with staff in software development, optical design engineering, sales, marketing, documentation, and development managers in a collaborative environment
The primary responsibilities of the position include:
- Support Optical Solutions customers with a variety of technical issues over email, web meeting, and face-to-face
- Develop technical materials in various formats, including training sessions, webinars, user group meetings, customer meetings, written articles, and video
The applicant should have the following qualifications:
- A proven track record of working with imaging systems modeling, analysis or design using commercial imaging design tools
- Excellent written, presentation, and verbal skills with the ability to communicate and teach technical information to others concisely and effectively
- A Bachelors, Masters, or Ph.D. in any of the following disciplines: Optics, Optical Sciences, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics
- Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting and organizational skills
- Experience in advanced optical design tools with the ability to understand and use CODE V with mastery
- Experience in illumination tools, stray light tools, and photonics tools is a plus
- Ability to work on concurrent projects
- Ability to work in a team and autonomously
- Willingness for domestic and occasional international travel to support and train customers
