August Conference Marks 50 Years of Groundbreaking Research at OSC

    In conjunction with SPIE's Optics + Photonics 2014, the College of Optical Sciences is holding a special technical conference in honor of its landmark anniversary, 50 Years of Optical Sciences at the University of Arizona, on Aug. 19 and 20 at the San Diego Convention Center.

    Among the topics to be explored are OSC's history, its prominence in optical engineering and instrumentation, its contributions to quantum and nonlinear optics, its role in the rise of photonics, and its research in imaging. Presenters includes current faculty, professors emeritus and distinguished alumni.

    Conference chairs are Regents' Professor of Radiology, Optical Sciences and Mathematics Harrison H. Barrett; professor of optical sciences and ophthalmology John E. Greivenkamp and professor of optical sciences and electrical and computer engineering Eustace L. Dereniak.
