Engineers Without Borders (EWB) is a student-run organization dedicated to using their knowledge and abilities to improve the world we live in and empower communities to meet their basic needs. They work with industry professionals to design practical and sustainable solutions to the multitude of problems faced by underserved communities. Additionally, they host a variety of technical workshops, social activities, and professional development experiences to engage members. Currently EWB has partnered with the Nalwoodi Denzhone Community in San Carlos, AZ to bring a community farm and youth center to life on the Apache Nation.

EWB would like to invite Optical Sciences undergraduate and graduate students to join in their mission. General body meetings take place Mondays from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in Shantz 440. The San Carlos Project Meetings are Tuesdays from 5 p.m. - 6 p.m. in the Science and Engineering Library. The first meeting of EWB this semester is Sept. 13 from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in Shantz 440 and will include general information about the organization. Interested in learning more or joining?
