Optimax Offering $10K Research Grant

    Optimax, an Industrial Affiliates Leadership Partner, is offering a $10,000 Optimax Grant for Research for our services to manufacture custom optical components. Optimax is requesting proposals by April 16, 2021. The submissions will be considered and the grant winner announced the week of May 3, 2021. Proposals should be submitted to: Kennedy Nyairo, Senior Licensing Manager, Wyant College of Optical Sciences: KennedyN@tla.arizona.edu.

    Optimax is one of America’s largest optics manufacturers with over 200 opticians. We manufacture prototype optical components for a wide variety of applications, including medical, semiconductor, solar, and aerospace to meet research needs.

     

    To enable the selection of appropriate research for the grant, we ask that you submit a proposal (maximum two pages plus lens drawings) with the following format:

    • Title Page
    • Name, position title, phone, and email of principal investigator submitting the proposal
    • Number of students, post-docs, and any other researchers in your group
    • Summary of your group’s research project
    • Outline of the optical components you need, with specifications and estimated cost
    • Contact Optimax to obtain a cost estimate by emailing sales@optimaxsi.com
    • Allow 3-4 weeks to receive your cost estimate.
    • Identify any opportunity you may have for matching funds for the Optimax Grant for Research (provide title, PI, and funding agency of any such proposals.)
    • Brief explanation of the impact and expected results of the experiments that will utilize the Optimax components you are requesting

    Proposals are due by April 16, 2021.

    The submissions will be compiled, then forwarded with recommendations to Optimax for final selection. The grant winner will be announced at the week of May 3rd, 2021.
