OSC Alumnus, Inaugural Bernard J. Couillaud Prize Winner

Tuesday, May 28, 2019 David Carlson, OSC alumnus who received his Ph.D. in 2016, is the inaugural Bernard J. Couillaud Prize winner. Carlson is now a postdoctoral researcher at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. He received the award at CLEO: Laser Science to Photonic Applications, San Jose, Calif., U.S.A, 5-10 May 2019. Carlson's winning proposal concerns development of the material tantala (Ta2O5) as a platform for nonlinear integrated photonics technology. Congratulations, David!
