Adjunct professor Marlan O. Scully joined an elite group of optical scientists last week when he was awarded the Frederic Ives Medal, the highest honor given by the Optical Society (OSA). Scully was a part of the Optical Sciences Center's faculty from the late 1960s through the late 1970s, when he was instrumental in building up the foundation of OSC's optical physics group.
