The SPIE Technology Achievement Award has been renamed as the SPIE Aden and Marjorie Meinel Technology Achievement Award. The name change comes in honor of Optical Sciences Center founder and Professor Emeritus Aden B. Meinel, and his wife and research partner, Marjorie. The yearly award is presented to recognize outstanding technical accomplishments in optics, electro-optics, photonic engineering, or imaging.
