PhD Students Invited to Apply to Jack Jewell Research Award

PhD students graduating in May, Summer, or December 2023, are encouraged to apply for the Jack Jewell Endowed Research Award for Extreme Optics.  This exciting award will be given to a graduating PhD student whose work best illustrates a passion for exceeding current “limitations” (i.e., nontraditional thinking and/or advancing the limits of thinking in their research) of optical technology in any subfield. The recipient’s lab/research achievements should demonstrate promising advancements for innovative applications of optics. 

 Minimum Application Requirements:

  • Ph.D. student in the Wyant College of Optical Sciences
  • Graduating in May, Summer or December 2023
  • Work  illustrates a passion for exceeding perceived “limitations” of optical technology in any subfield. 

Award Amount: $4,000 cash stipend
