Given our global community, it is obvious how the importance of higher education will increase in coming years. For those attending the Wyant College of Optical Sciences, achieving this education means an ever-increasing reliance on scholarships.

Privately funded scholarships are crucial to providing them with the financial resources they need in order to be successful — and their successes help define the Wyant College as a pre-eminent academic program in optical sciences.

Establishing an Endowed Scholarship

Establishing an endowed scholarship is an ideal opportunity to permanently link your name, or the name of someone you wish to honor, with both the tradition and the future of the Wyant College. An endowed scholarship is held in perpetuity, with the annual award made from the interest payout of the investment. The college works with you help establish the selection criteria for awarding the scholarship. It also honors endowed scholarships in a visible and permanent way, including a personalized plaque prominently displayed within the college’s main lobby.

Supporting the Wyant College Dean's Fund

The Wyant College Dean's fund was created to offer awards to bright and talented undergraduate and graduate students at the college. Donations of any amount will make a difference.

Contributing to an Existing Scholarship

Gifts to the following scholarships will both further the legacy of those whom these funds represent and provide greater academic opportunities to students.

FoTO (Friends of Tucson Optics) endowments hold a minimum $500,000 balance, and their scholarships are awarded to first-year optical sciences graduate students. The payout provides — in perpetuity — stipend support at about $20,000 annually, and the awards include tuition and fees.
