    Engineering Design Day

    Come out and support OSC students at Engineering Design Day, April 30thReview the full schedule. Projects will be displayed in the Student Union Grand Ballroom and on the UA Mall between the cactus garden and the USS Arizona Mall Memorial. Design Day opens for the public at 11 a.m. on April 30. The award ceremony will be held in the Student Ballroom at 4 p.m.

    Robert S. Hilbert Memorial Optical Design Competition Accepting Entries

    University of Arizona students are invited to participate in the Synopsys Robert S. Hilbert Memorial Optical Design Competition, which recognizes excellence in optical design projects completed by students. Students can enter an optical design class assignment or thesis work. Cash awards totaling $4,000 are granted each year. Go to the Synopsys website for more details, to download the entry form, and to see past winners from the University of Arizona.

    OSC Startup Licenses Dual-View Probe for Medical Endoscopy

    Professors of Optical Sciences Dr. Bhaskar Banerjee and Dr. Rongguang Liang have formed a startup company called Omniscient LLC and licensed new technology through Tech Launch Arizona. The dual-view endoscopic device aims to help save lives by increasing cancerous polyp detection.

    SOCk Officer Elections

    SOCk is currently accepting nominations for the next academic year's officers. The election will be held the first week of May. SOCk has four cabinet positions (President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer) and six committee chair positions (two each to lead Outreach, Academic Affairs, and Social Activities).
