Seniors to Present Capstones at Engineering Design Day
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, the Student Union Memorial Center Ballroom will be filled with almost 80 interdisciplinary design projects tackled by this year's seniors in the College of Engineering and College of Optical Sciences.
Faculty, staff, friends and fellow students are all invited to come peruse the showcase.
EASIS Optics Summer Camp Seeks Volunteers!
A group of Native American middle and high school students from Winslow Unified School District will participate in the upcoming Expect Academic Success in STEM summer camp at the College of Optical Sciences – and the organizers want you to volunteer!
The program, which takes place June 8-12, could use students, faculty and staff to help with various tasks, activities and lab tours. All help will be greatly appreciated, whether it’s for the whole camp or just a couple hours.

Hua Wins Award for Best Paper
Associate professor Hong Hua's article "Eyetracked Optical See-Through Head-Mounted Display as an AAC Device" was named one of the inaugural winners of the Fumio Okano Best 3-D Paper Prize at last week's SPIE Defense, Security and Sensing conference.
SOCk Helps Go-Karters Race the Sun
The UA Student Optics Chapter held court on Saturday at the Racing the Sun go-kart race organized by Tech Parks Arizona.
The competition brings local high school students together with teachers, energy industry professionals and graduate students to design and test solar-powered go-karts. SOCk staffed an exhibit featuring polarization demos and a solar telescope.
