Aug. 30 | The University of Arizona College of Optical Sciences Newsletter
Announcements
With the Stadium Lights Ablaze
The Wildcats lead the Lumberjacks 14-0 at the half, revelers line the streets and school is officially back in session.
Some start-of-semester announcements lead today's newsletter, followed by just a few of the slew of the college's recent media mentions. While no new jobs have been posted this week, we still have positions available here in Meinel as well as around the industry, so feel free to take another look at the employment listings.
Have a festive and safe Labor Day weekend — September comes soon with Colloquium lectures and (shh!) comprehensive exams.
Students, Sign Up for Shop Training
If you plan to work in the optics machine shop on the first floor this fall, please contact Todd Horne at hornet@optics.arizona.edu; he's gathering names of interested students and plans to schedule the mandatory training class soon. The final day and time will be selected after a quorum has been collected.
Funding Opportunities Through National Research Council
The National Research Council of the National Academies offers selective associateship and fellowship opportunities at a number of national laboratories through its Research Associateship Program.
