UArizona Wyant College of Optical Sciences Announces Two Newly Established Endowed Chairs in Optical Sciences
The Jack Lee Jewell Endowed Chair in Optical Sciences and The Nasser Peyghambarian Endowed Chair in Optical Sciences create new endowed faculty positions at the College. Two accomplished scientists in the fields of Optics and Photonics have established endowed chairs in their names at The University of Arizona James C. Wyant College of Optical Sciences.

OSC Students Visit DC as Representatives of UArizona
Eight to ten UArizona students will participate in the grand opening of the University of Arizona Center for Outreach and Collaboration in Washington, DC as official representatives of the university including OSC's Ben Cromey, Jilian Nguyen, and Kelli Kiekens. Congratulations on being selected for this honor and opportunity!
OSC Students Recognized at SPIE
OSC Students and Faculty were recognized at SPIE for multiple honors. Congratulations to the awardees! Brandon Hellman, Joshua Rodriguez, Chuan Luo, HeeJoo Choi, and Yuzuru Takashima received the Best Student Paper award. Adley Gin, mentored by Judy Su, was awarded the Best Student Talk for his research "Label-free ultrasensitive detection of Amyloid-β using microtoroid resonators with lipid surface functionalization." Cheng Li, mentored by Judy Su, received the Prizmatix Young Investigator Award for his research, "Particle shape analysis using whispering gallery mode polarization sensing."

10 Years of Laser Fun Day
The University of Arizona College of Optical Sciences will hold its tenth annual Laser Fun Day as SOCk, the official undergraduate and graduate student optics organization, brings the science of optics alive for all ages. The educational extravaganza takes place on Saturday, March 21, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Meinel Building, 1630 E. University Blvd. on the UA campus. Admission is free and open to the public.
