OSC Student Places in Student Competition at Conference
Congratulations to OSC graduate student, Kira Hart, who was the 2nd place winner in the Oral Presentation Category of the Joint Conference [9R2O and 15NGOESS] Student Competition at the 2019 AMS 99th Annual Meeting in Phoenix, AZ. Hart's presentation "LWIR Spectro-Polarimeter for Cloud-Induced Polarization Measurements" was based on her research with Dr. Russell Chipman and Dr. Meredith Kupinski. Hart was featured in the Another Wavelength here.
WiO Receives Funding for LYC Symposium
Women in Optic's much anticipated Launching You Career Student Symposium was selected by the Office for Diversity and Inclusive Excellence (ODIEX) committee to receive funding to support the special event. Congratulations WiO! Great work planning and hosting events that have such a great impact on the University of Arizona student population.

Cochise College Visits OSC
Cochise College visited the 3D holography lab where Craig Draper and Micah Mann gave them a special tour of their research. Later, Ryan Sipos performed a cow eye dissection while sharing with the students all the optical components that make eyes function. It was a great day and the students had a blast learning about optics. Speaking with the students afterward, CIAN Coordinator, Trin Riojas, learned that 90% of the students plan to transfer to the UA to study a STEM field, mostly engineering.
Launching your Career 2019
All University of Arizona STEM undergraduate students, graduate students, postdoctorals, faculty, and industry professionals are invited to attend the 2019 Launching Your Career Symposium, hosted by OSC's Women in Optics. Register today!
