Meet Students of Great Potential
This weekend, the college will host a cadre of 24 potential graduate students and show them the best that Tucson has to offer. Of course, that includes OSC, so come down to one of their refreshment breaks, held at 10:15 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., to meet and greet your potential classmates, coworkers and students.
This talented bunch includes the following folks from the following places:
Special Events in March
Next month heralds two exceptional gatherings for the college's community.
Like Books? Like Optics?
Volunteer for the 2013 Tucson Festival of Books! On March 9 and 10, OSC will hold an open house as part of UA's huge Science City extravaganza on the Mall, and we'd love to see students, faculty, staff and affiliates manning the demo booths and educating the public about the wonders of optics. If you're interested, you can sign up and provide your availability on this online poll.
Race for the Cure Comes to UA
The 15th Southern Arizona Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure hits the streets on March 17 — and, for the first time, all the action will happen on the University of Arizona campus. Olympic medalist and UA undergraduate Brigetta Barrett will be on hand as honorary race chair, and thousands of Tucsonans will join her that Sunday morning for a one-mile walk or a 5K run.
Mobile Matters ...
... and UA is eager to explore why the importance of mobile applications in information technology will increase in the years to come.
