Community Speakers Resumes Tomorrow, Colloquium Back Next Week

With the new semester comes a new slate of lectures by the world's leading minds in optical sciences. The SOCk-sponsored Community Speakers Lecture Series starts again tomorrow at noon with a presentation by the executive director of the pioneering Tech Launch Arizona initiative, while the spring Colloquium Lecture Series begins next Thursday, Jan. 24, with our very own Stanley Pau.

As always, all are welcome to attend these events.

    Solar Lab Open House

The Steward Observatory Solar Lab is holding an open house on Monday from 2:30-4:30 p.m. just behind Bear Down Gym on Fourth Street. The lab, which includes several College of Optical Sciences graduate students, will introduce their concentrated photovoltaic solar energy system and demonstrate its power by melting steel plates.

Due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, free parking will be available at the Cherry Avenue Garage.
