    Seeking Volunteer "Extras" for APS Film at OSC

    Always wanted to act in a film!? Here’s your chance! OSC is working with APS to create a short film about Quantum Communications and research occurring right here at our college! If you would like to participate as an “extra” in the background of the film please email Amee Hennig (amee@optics.arizona.edu) to be included. The filming will occur on January 29th. Volunteers will be needed anywhere from 30 min to 2 hrs.

    Tech Launch Arizona: Shark for a Day

    An Interactive Workshop Where YOU Evaluate Startups for Success. This special edition of Shark for a Day, on Feb. 19 from 12-1 p.m. is specifically for Engineering and Optical Sciences faculty, researchers and graduate students. Lunch will be provided for all who register in advance. This workshop gives you a taste of the tools expert investors use to evaluate startups. Register to attend.

    Laser Fun Day is quickly approaching, and will be hosted at OSC on April 20th from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.! If you want to be involved email sock@optics.arizona.edu to be added to the mailing list. Bi-monthly meetings with pizza will start Jan. 28th, 12 - 1 p.m. in Meinel 821. Additionally, there are other exciting SOCk opportunities coming up such as mirror lab tours (for faculty, staff, and students!), a Practical Optics workshop, and outreach opportunities.
