Please note: The reception has changed rooms. It is now located in the Bayside Pavilion.
In the midst of all the festivities surrounding SPIE Optics + Photonics in August, including the special conference convened in honor of OSC's 50th anniversary, the college invites alumni, Industrial Affiliates members and faculty to an evening soiree.
Fantastic TLA Student Fellowship Opportunity
Tech Launch Arizona is looking for grad students interested in technology transfer to join their exciting Student Fellows program. Fellows assist in the assessment of new UA technologies, working closely with Tech Transfer Arizona licensing managers (like our own Amy Phillips!) to move inventions from the lab to the marketplace.
Exploring Polarization in OPTI 586
Professor Russell A. Chipman encourages everyone with an interest in the intersection of polarization and optical systems to enroll in his course OPTI 586: Polarization in Optical Design and OPTI 586L, the associated lab taught by assistant research professor Gregory A. Smith.
Insight into CIAN's REU IOU-NA
At first glance, it may look like alphabet soup, but the Center for Integrated Access Networks Integrated Optics for Undergraduates for Native Americans program, part of the NSF's Research Experience for Undergraduates initiative, offers a one-of-a-kind introduction to the academic atmosphere for hardworking students, some of whom may never have set foot inside a laboratory before.
This blog post by Robert Castellanos, a member of the IOU-NA inaugural class, provides a first-person perspective of the program's impact.
