Tucson Heat Claims Lives of Two OSA Members
Two German OSA members and employees of Laser Zentrum passed away while hiking in Ventana Canyon this weekend. Dr. Stefan Günster and Marcus Turowski were in Tucson attending the Optical Interference Coatings (OIC) conference being held at Loews Venana Canyon.

Falco Appointed to SIFHAMS
His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah, has appointed Professor Charles M. Falco to the Board of Trustees of the Sharjah International Foundation for the History of Arab and Muslim Sciences (SIFHAMS). Its mission is to promote an understanding of the contributions of Arab and Muslim scientists to the history of science, highlight influences on modern science and advance overall scientific literacy.

Interview with Christopher Yarbrough
OSC alumnus Christopher Yarbrough was recently included in the Poets & Quants for Executives' Best & Brightest Class of 2016. Yarbrough received his B.S. in Optical Engineering in 1999, and will be graduating from the University of California-Irvine Paul Merage School of Business' Executive MBA program this month.
