    OSC Alumni and IA Reception in San Diego, August 13

    Register to attend the Wyant College of Optical Sciences’ Alumni and Industrial Affiliates Reception. The event is being held on Tuesday, August 13 at a new location - Roy’s San Diego Waterfront (located inside the Marriott Hotel, 333 West Harbor Drive).  Held in conjunction with SPIE Optics + Photonics 2019, the party will start-up at a new time of 5:00 p.m. with a very special announcement scheduled for 5:15 p.m. And you won’t want to miss hearing this news! All OSC Alumni and IA members are welcomed – an SPIE conference registration is not required. 

    Edmund Optics Educational Award Accepting Applications

    Edmund Optics is currently accepting applications for the Edmund Optics Inspiring Optical Innovation Educational Award. Applications are due before June 28, 2019, so apply today! Awards range from $500 to $10,000. The goal of this program is supporting outstanding undergraduate and graduate optics programs in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

    Watts Up! Summer Schedule

    As the campus bustle slows down the Watts Up will follow suit! Watts Up! will be released on a monthly basis during the summer months, on the last Thursday of each month.     Alumnus Receives 2019 Kevin P. Thompson Optical Design Innovator Award

    OSC Alumnus, Kyle Fuerschbach of Sandia National Laboratories, received the 2019 Kevin P. Thompson Optical Design Innovator Award during the 2019 OSA Optical Design and Fabrication Congress for his work in designing and testing the first-ever free form imaging telescope to demonstrate freeform surfaces in optical imaging systems.
