Campus Safety Refresh
Many resources are available on the University of Arizona's Risk Management Services website and the Police Department website for recommendations on how to react and protect yourself during emergency situations. At the links below you can find procedures for a variety of situations. In an emergency situation please call 911 (landlines link directly to UAPD, cell phone callers will need to identify your emergency is at UA). For non-emergencies, please call 520-621-UAPD (8273) for the UAPD non-emergency police line.
The Coordinate Metrology Society Calls for Papers
The Coordinate Metrology Society (CMS) Conference is planned for July 23-27, 2018 in Reno NV. Each year at this conference, technical papers are presented discussing new technology, innovative applications, and research projects engaging measurement systems and results. The Executive Committee is issuing a Call for Papers, from which several presentations will be chosen for the conference. CMS has invited College of Optical Sciences faculty and students to submit papers.

WiO: Launching your Career 2018
All University of Arizona STEM undergraduate students, graduate students, postdoctorals, faculty, and industry professionals are invited to register for the 2018 Launching Your Career Symposium, hosted by OSC's Women in Optics. The event will be taking place on Saturday, March 24 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the UA ENR2 building.
AISES Conference at University of Arizona
OSC student and previous participant in the Integrated Optics for Undergraduate Native Americans REU program, Natasha Manygoats, is currently working with the University of Arizona AISES chapter to host the American Indian Science & Engineering Society (AISES) Region 3 conference right here on campus. Natasha and the conference organizers are currently seeking presenters for the regional conference April 13-14, 2018.
Industrial Affiliates Updates
KLA-Tencor Information Session
At 6 p.m. on Nov. 7, representatives from Industrial Affiliates program member KLA-Tencor will offer an information session in Meinel 307. They seek applicants for full-time and intern openings for chemistry, chemical engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, materials science, mechanical engineering, optics and physics — all are invited to bring their résumés. At the end of the night, there will be a drawing for a $100 Apple gift card.

Colloquium: John Bruning
Thursday, March 1st from 3:30pm to 5:00pm Dr. John Bruning will present in the OSC Colloquium Lecture Series on "Phase Measuring Interferometry – Roles in the microelectronics revolution and astronomy."
NAWC Info Session
Wednesday, March 14 at 10am the NAWC will host an info session on job opportunities with the Department of Defense. The Avionics, Sensors and, E*Warfare Department is seeking motivated engineers and scientists to usher in the next generation of warfighting capabilities. Attend the info session to learn more.
NASA Pathways Program Info Session
Tuesday, March 20 at 5 p.m. NASA will have Margaret Dominguez from NASA, and current OSC Ph.D. student, lead an info session about the NASA Pathways Program and career opportunities. Register online to attend.
