    2 Win ARCS Scholarships

    Congratulations go to Ph.D. students David Carlson and Brian Wheelwright, both of whom have won 2013-2014 ARCS Foundation scholarships. Brian works in J. Roger P. Angel's solar energy lab, and David works for R. Jason Jones on ultrafast optical science and precision frequency comb spectroscopy.

    Thompson, Ph.D. 1980, Wins Conrady Award

    Alumnus Kevin P. Thompson, currently the director of the optical research and development group at Optical Research Associates (part of Synopsis Inc.), has been named the 2013 recipient of SPIE's A.E. Conrady Award, which is given annually to an outstanding contributor in the field of optical systems and instrumentation.

    Attention, Centennial State Alumni!

    On Thursday, April 18, Dean Thomas L. Koch and professor Jim H. Burge will head north and east to the Renaissance Boulder Flatiron Hotel to host a special College of Optical Sciences reception. Dean Koch will provide updates on the college before a special presentation by professor Burge. Also featured: the Flatiron's infamous South of the Border buffet.
