Seniors Present Capstone Projects at Engineering Design Day
OSC's senior undergraduates gathered on Tuesday to present their interdisciplinary capstone projects at UA's 2014 Engineering Design Day. Thirty-three B.S. in OSE students on 15 different teams culminated two semesters (and several years!) of hard work with posters and prototypes scattered across the Mall and in the Student Union.
Outstanding Students Reflect College's Best Facets
During last week's scholarship and awards ceremony, the College of Optical Sciences named Johnathan Davis its Outstanding Senior and Byron Cocilovo both its Outstanding Graduate Student and its Outstanding Teaching Assistant.

August Conference Marks 50 Years of Groundbreaking Research at OSC
In conjunction with SPIE's Optics + Photonics 2014, the College of Optical Sciences is holding a special technical conference in honor of its landmark anniversary, 50 Years of Optical Sciences at the University of Arizona, on Aug. 19 and 20 at the San Diego Convention Center.

June fast approaches, and with it comes a new opportunity to attend Breault Research Organization's Introduction to ASAP software tutorial. The June 3-6 session is free for OSC staff and students.

More Office Moves in Academic Programs
A further shuffling of spaces down on the fourth floor has settled with senior events coordinator Jennifer Garcia in Meinel 406A and senior program coordinator Amanda Ferraris in Meinel 412. With the departure of graduate student funding coordinator Anabel Moreno, Amanda has taken on some new duties; students with questions or concerns about 2014 appointment forms — due by Friday, July 18 — should email amanda@optics.arizona.edu, call 520-621-8418 or stop by her new office.
