    Info Session with Radiant Zemax

    Industrial Affiliate Radiant Zemax LLC will hold an information session on Nov. 14 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Meinel 307; pizza and soda will be available.

    Free APEX and ASAP Tutorials

    Breault Research Organization, one of the college's generous Industrial Affiliates members, is offering APEX and ASAP tutorials to the OSC community free of charge. They will offer the ASAP class on Dec. 3-6, with the APEX tutorial scheduled for Jan. 2-4. Faculty, graduate students and senior undergrads are welcome.

    Risi Awarded ABOR Scholarship

    Ph.D. student Matthew Risi was recently awarded the Arizona Board of Regents Graduate Research Scholarship, which provides $5,000 toward dissertation research costs.

    Alumnus Mauro Pereira reports that he has been appointed as chair of a new European Union Action on TERA-MIR radiation and as co-chair of a NATO Advanced Research Workshop on the detection of explosives using Terahertz radiation.

    Current SPIE President Eustace L. Dereniak reports from Japan that he recently dined with the president of Hamamatsu Photonics, which makes many of the optical components used at OSC.
