Tohono O'odham Students Visit OSC
In a partnership with CIAN and through the AISPIRE (American Indian Student & Parent Involved Research Experience) after-school program, the San Simon Day School brought 46 third through eighth grade students to the College of Optical Sciences to learn about optics.
TRIF/Imaging Small Grants Program
The UA Technology Research Initiative Fund (TRIF) Optics/Imaging Program has announced a funding opportunity to help support new initiatives and/or equipment for advanced imaging research. Any UA faculty member working in the area of imaging is eligible to apply as principal investigator. Interested faculty may contact Jim Schwiegerling with any questions or to submit applications. Deadline for applications is Friday, Nov. 20.
New Winter Workshops Offered
Looking for some additional development, networking and experience? Take a gander at the two upcoming Winter Workshops scheduled for January 2016, and broaden your professional and technical skillsets. Faculty Distinctions
Newly Appointed Tenure Track Faculty
We'd like to congratulate two newly appointed tenure-track faculty members here in OSC: Dae Wook Kim and Michael Hart. Michael and Dae Wook emerged from a search committee led by Jim Schwiegerling, and gained the support of the UA administration to help advance the Never Settle Strategic Plan. Both have highly innovative research agendas in optical technologies that are positioned to impact a wide range of applications.

The University of Arizona Foundation released a video showcasing the impact of the Arizona NOW fundraising campaign on UA's talented student body. Logan Graves, a College of Optical Sciences Ph.D. student, describes his excitement for optics after receiving a FoTO scholarship.
