    In early September, Ameé Hennig, education & outreach manager for the Center for Integrated Access Network (CIAN) and Mono Livingston, Integrated Optics for Undergraduate Native Americans (IOU-NA) Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) participant, attended International Year of Light events in Washington, D.C. at the invitation of the NSF and SPIE.

    Falco Appointed to Ibn al Haytham International Working Group

    College of Optical Sciences Professor Charles M. Falco was recently appointed to the Ibn al Haytham International Working Group by UNESCO and the International Steering Committee of the International Year of Light. The IWG will be working to highlight the contributions in the field of optics of Arab scholars in the Islamic golden age, in particular the work of Ibn al Haytham (Alhazen). The group includes leading optics and photonics scientists from Africa, Europe, North America and Asia.
