    NSF Renews CIAN with $17M Grant

    The National Science Foundation has reaffirmed its confidence in the mission of the Engineering Research Center for Integrated Access Networks, headquartered at the University of Arizona College of Optical Sciences, with a $17 million grant.

    Donor Spotlight on Joseph W. and Hon Mai Goodman

    Our second Donor Spotlight features a name well known to students of the optical sciences: Joseph W. Goodman, a Stanford-based scholar who has written several seminal texts in the field.     Registration Open for OnlineGreenComm

    You are now invited to register for IEEE's 2014 Online Conference on Green Communications, which will be held Nov. 12-14 online only. OnlineGreenComm aims to address challenges in energy-efficient communications and communications for green technologies in a uniquely environmentally friendly format.

    OSC will serve as this year's virtual host for the conference, helping attendees to explore green methodologies and architectures for communication technologies, communication technologies as enablers for green solutions, and more, without ever leaving the familiarity of their own Internet-connected homes or offices.

    Keynote speakers include Flavio Cucchietti, John Bowers and Chenyang Yang.
