Sharp Laboratories of America Partners with OSC on MOSAIC Project
As part of President Obama's Clean Power Plan and through the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E), the Department of Energy awarded $24 million in funding for 11 high-performance solar power projects. Sharp Laboratories of America received $2.7 million and is partnering with the College of Optical Sciences for their MOSAIC project.
OSC Announces New Industrial Track M.S. Degree Program
The new Master of Science in Optical Sciences Industrial Track program blends the traditional legacy of OSC's academic excellence with real-world, hands-on experience in an industrial laboratory setting. This is an opportunity to be placed into a credit-bearing 2nd year paid internship with OSC partner companies. For more information on this exciting new program, see the official M.S. Fall Responsible Conduct of Research Workshops Announced
The Office for Research & Discovery has announced the fall workshop schedule to fulfill RCR training requirements. If you are a graduate or undergraduate student, postdoc or an early career faculty involved with a project sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF), National Institutes of Health (NIH) or the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA), this requirement applies to you. 2015 Scholarship Awards Ceremony

The College of Optical Sciences celebrated a new generation of scholars as well as the unwavering support of donors at the 2015 Scholarship Awards Ceremony. The event took place on the evening of Sept. 11 and was followed by a reception in the 3rd floor lobby. Ceremony speakers included Dean Thomas L. Koch, Founding Dean James C. Wyant and Ph.D. student Brian Goodell.

Industrial Affiliates Updates
UBER Joins Industrial Affiliates Program
We'd like to extend a warm welcome to Uber, which became our latest affiliate as a Principal Partner in Optical Sciences. Uber and the College of Optical Sciences recently announced a partnership focusing on research and development in the optics space for mapping and safety. In addition to the partnership, Uber donated $25,000 to help support the next generation of optical scientists, engineers and researchers.
Career Opportunities with the Aerospace Corporation
Interested in a career in National Security Space? Aerospace Corp. is hiring, and will be hosting an information session on Tuesday, Oct. 6, in Meinel 410 at 6 p.m. with dinner and an iPad raffle, followed by networking from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
