The Arizona Technology Council (AZTC) presented the 11th Annual Southern Arizona Tech + Business Expo on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. Among the awards presented included "Innovation Leader of the Year" award presented to Paramium Technologies. Paramium Technologies is a Tucson-based startup that grew out of innovations developed at the University of Arizona James C. Wyant College of Optical SciencesCollege of Engineering, and the Steward Observatory associated with the College of Science.

The award recognizes the work of Justin Hyatt (Wyant College of Optical Sciences PhD, 2019) and co-founder Christian Davila to create the startup and pursue innovative technologies. According to Paramium Technologies’ website, the startup was, “created to meet a need in the radio communications industry for fast, flexible, and accurate fabrication of freeform curved metal panels.”

The AZTC award for "Innovation Leader of the Year," sponsored by Involta, states "The company has made a significant contribution to the Southern Arizona tech community and/or significant contribution to advancing or transforming an industry sector. The company is a recognized technical or innovation leader in Southern Arizona." Find the 2023 Event Program here.
