    JACLYN JOHN AWARDED NASA SPACE GRANT

    Jaclyn John was selected as a 2022 NASA Space Grant recipient based on her proposal submission, "NASA Outreach Taking Flight." Read Jaclyn's proposal here. Jaclyn will create a course for Nerding (a 4th-7th grade summer program) and also a special course related to her research and upcoming instrument deployment for NASA's SaSa program, a summer program for undergraduates from minority-serving institutions.

    The Wyant College is pleased to welcome our newest Leadership Partner, the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division

    ROBERT S. HILBERT MEMORIAL OPTICA DESIGN COMPETITION

    Synopsys has invited Wyant College students to enter an optical design or research project they worked on during the 2021-2022 school year. Entries are due June 15, 2022. Awards totaling $20,000 will be granted. Visit the Synopsys website to learn how you can enter your project today! Last year's winners from the UArizona included: Elliot Kwan, Jace Malm, Avalon McLeod, Lam Nguyen, and Sebastian Valencia.

    APPLY TODAY TO THE EDMUND OPTICS EDUCATIONAL AWARD

    Apply today for the 2022 Edmund Optics Educational Award. Applications are due June 24. The award is an initiative to support outstanding undergraduate and graduate optics programs in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics at non-profit colleges and universities. Past winners include Travis Sawyer in 2019, who was selected for the Silver Award (a total of $7,500) for the development of a novel endoscope for early detection of esophageal cancer.
