Ryan Bronson, an alumnus of the Wyant College who received his B.S. in Spring 2017, works as a systems engineer at Collins Aerospace, an IA Leadership Partner Member of the college. After less than a week on the job, Ryan was assigned to the Rover Perseverance build & test project. On Feb. 18, 2021 the rover landed successfully on Mars while Ryan watched. “Watching Perseverance land successfully on Mars and knowing I played a small role in helping to make that safe landing possible was surreal,” said Ryan. “There’s just no explanation.” Read more about Ryan and his role at Collins Aerospace.

My time at OSC was filled with so many inspirational and significant experiences that were critical to my successes thus far in my career it’s hard to sum it up into a sentence or two. The unique knowledge and opportunity I was exposed to during my time at OSC was essential to not only my successes but growing as an optical scientist/engineer. I think more importantly the optics community at OSC (and Tucson) is a once in a lifetime experience to be apart of and the people I was fortunate enough to meet, interact with, learn from has impacted me in such a positive way.
