John R. Rogers, OSC Alumnus, Elected as 2025 Optica Fellow
Congratulations to alumnus John R. Rogers (OSC PhD 1983) was elected as a 2025 Fellow Member of Optica. Rogers is currently working as a principal scientist with the Optical Solutions Group at Synopsys, Inc., an Industrial Affiliates Partner of the Wyant College of Optical Sciences.
Rogers is being honored specifically, "for leadership and excellence in optical design and engineering, including pioneering work in nodal aberration theory."
Fellow membership in Optica is limited to no more than ten percent of the membership and is reserved for members who have served with distinction in the advancement of optics and photonics. “Congratulations to the 2025 class of Optica Fellows,” said Jim Kafka, 2025 Optica President. “These members are making important contributions to our society and field. We thank them for their dedication and are incredibly proud to celebrate their accomplishments.”
