Role is based in our Redwood City, CA US headquarters office.
 
The successful candidate will develop, implement, and validate a new automated calibration process & functional system for an optical sensor used in Carbon 3D printers calibration process.
 
This work will require experience in Python coding as main prerequisite and basic hands on/engineering skills.
 
As part of the project, you will...
  • Write Python code that will run motorized positioning equipment, sensors, and light sources, collect and process the data from the sensors and export the result
  • Write unit tests and conduct thorough testing of software applications to ensure reliability and stability
  • Use optical design software to extract relevant input parameters
  • Perform integration of the measurement system software and hardware
  • Perform full validation of the system and demonstrate achieved results
  • Work on integration into Carbons printer calibration software
You have...
  • Applied Optics, or Opto-Mechanics, or other optics coursework.
  • Ideally a familiarity with Zemax or other optical design software. 
  • Understanding of basic mechanical principles and hands on engineering skills
