    UA WOMEN OF IMPACT AWARDEES INCLUDE FOUR OSC PROFESSORS

    With over 400 nominations received for The University’s Office of Research, Innovation & Impact (RII) inaugural offering of the “Women of Impact Awards,” four Wyant College professors were selected for this honor. The inaugural class of Women of Impact, comprised of 30 bold and forward-thinking leaders, included from Wyant College Jennifer Barton, Hong Hua, Meredith Kupinski and Judith Su. Read more.

    OSC ALUMNI AND INDUSTRIAL AFFILIATES RECEPTION | AUG 23

    Wyant College will be hosting an Alumni and Industrial Affiliates Reception, planned in conjunction with the SPIE Optics + Photonics 2022 conference inside the beautiful Marriott Hotel at Roy’s San Diego Waterfront, 333 West Harbor Drive. The reception will be 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. Register for the event here (required by August 19, 2022.)

    MEMORIAL SERVICE: CATHY BARRETT | JUNE 18

    A memorial service for Catherine (Cathy) C. Barrett will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Saturday, June 18 at 10 a.m. Cathy and her husband, Professor Harrison H. Barrett, have supported the College in many capacities, including funding research grants, student scholarships and the Harrison H. and Catherine C. Barrett Endowed Chair in Optical Sciences for Cancer Imaging.  Read the obituary.

    THREE WYANT COLLEGE STUDENTS SELECTED AS OPTICA WOMEN SCHOLARS

    Optica has announced their selections for the 2022 Optica Women Scholars—twenty aspiring women of science of whom three are Wyant College students. The Wyant College is happy to congratulate Jennifer Bragg (advised by Prof. Olivier Guyon), Jaclyn John (advised by Prof. Meredith Kupinski), and Jodi Kreiner (pictured L to R above) on being named Optica Women Scholars.

    Wyant College Spring 2022 Ph.D. graduate, Dr. Kira Shanks, has been nominated as the University of Arizona representative going forward for consideration to win the science and engineering category for the CGS/ProQuest Distinguished Dissertation Award.
