Minor in Optical Sciences & Engineering

Adding a minor to your undergraduate degree exposes you to interdisciplinary perspectives and increases your value to future employers. Students pursuing the minor in Optical Sciences & Engineering enjoy a camaraderie with those in the major, faculty, staff, alumni, and employers while adding valuable skills to any degree. The minor consists of at least 18 units including 8 units of Geometrical & Instrumental Optics with labs plus 10 upper division units in OPTI.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

Students requesting the addition of an Engineering minor must have completed Calculus I or higher with a C or better, be in good academic standing with a UArizona cumulative GPA of 2.00 or higher, and have a declared major. Please note, “No Major Selected” students are not eligible.
