Abstract:
I am the lead optical engineer for system alignment of Atlantis a small optical satellite. As such I oversee the fabrication of the individual optics, am involved in the course alignment of the optics, I lead the data collection and processing of the system data and have final sign off that we meet the optical specifications.
In this presentation, I will take you through the background on optical fabrication and testing. Some general information will be provided when project specifics are redacted. This explains the process of fabricating optics in addition to the key as built parameters needed for alignment. The state of the system when it arrives to interferometry will be explained. A walk through the test setup is provided with details of the chosen equipment. The primary focus of this is the optical alignment from first light to sell off. We will cover the data collection and data processing steps as well as reverse optimization. This will take us to a fully aligned system ready for sell off.
