Title
Towards High Power, Low Noise lasers in Silicon Photonics
Abstract
In this talk, I will highlight our progress on watt-class high-power lasers in silicon photonics and show how large-mode-area technology enables low-noise, high-power operation with the potential to reach hundreds of watts in the future.

Neetesh Singh is a Research scientist at the ultrafast optics and laser X-ray group at Center for Free-Electron Laser Science at DESY, where he is leading the integrated linear and nonlinear photonics group. He received his Masters degree from the University of New South Wales, Sydney and PhD from the Center for ultrahigh bandwidth devices for optical system at University of Sydney in 2015. He was a postdoctoral associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology prior to joining DESY in 2019. His research interest includes nonlinear silicon photonics, mid infrared photonics and integrated mode-locked laser.
