Congratulations to PhD student, Gabe Richardson, for receiving the NASA Space Technology Graduate Research Opportunities (NSTGRO) Fellowship. The NASA Space Technology Graduate Research Opportunities award provides a $40,000 stipend and additional funding to graduate students who show significant potential to contribute to creating innovative new space technologies.

Gabe was selected for his project, "Toward Universal Quantum Optimal Photonic Processing Using Quantum Computation." A full list of 2023 awardees may be found here. Gabe is advised by Prof. Saikat Guha, Director of the NSF-ERC Center for Quantum Networks. The work Gabe is pursuing will support his doctoral studies as well as the efforts being undertaken by the ERC for the future of quantum Internet.

Prof. Guha shared the news saying, "This Fellowship, upon successful completion of milestones and annual renewals, will pay for his entire doctoral research study; focused on designs of quantum enabled receivers for photonic information processing using engineered atomic systems and tailored light-matter interactions, for applications such as optical communications, sensing, entanglement distribution."

Congrats, Gabe!
